Boy’s Choir is a very ancient tradition, it started in XIII century and is still alive.
At the vey beginning of Catholic tradition there were communities of faithful with no division between men and women, once they were divided into monasteries for monks and convents for nuns, it appeared the need of having young boys with white voices to sing in the monks monasteries, so the monks included into their choirs young boys.
Nowadays in Montserrat monastery they have the most ancient choir all over Europe, in reality is a music and primary school 50 young boys get regular education in the morning, and music lessons in the afternoon, they perform twice a day following the rule Benedictine.
